It sure has been a while, but I'm back!

I'm finally back to civilization, and I can gladly say that I am on my own computer, with good speed internet, and I'm excited to finally post my birth story, pictures from June 13th, the day my beautiful baby was born, and then of course picture from then til now.
Kayleigh Jade Garcia was born on June 13th, 2011 at 10:37 AM on Monday morning. She is now almost 3 months old. I know, shame on me for not keeping up with my posts, but you know what? I was in Casa Grande, where the internet was kinda useless, so I basically used my phone for internet lol. Thats alright, like I said, im here now and Im happy to say that im finally starting to get my baby girl on a schedule that will allow me to get things done such as this blog update, and my baby cross stitch project which is ALMOST done by the way, and I plan to print out pictures of kayleigh and our whole family to scrapbook and put into photo albums. Oh and eventually i will get my new temporary home clean. "Temporary" because Jon and I have moved into my cousin Amanda's townhouse for the time they are in Utah attending school. We might leave earlier than the 3 or 4 years, but that will be if we can find a house of our own, and qualify. Once I get the place cleaned up enough, I will post pictures of it as well, but for now, im gonna start with my birth story, and pictures of that day.

Kayleigh Jade: Birth Story:

June 12th, 2011

Jon and I arrived at the Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, AZ bright and early on Sunday morning. The plan was to be induced.. I could hardly stand pregnancy anymore, and was about ready to burst... yes, literally.
I received my first set of 'gels' at 8 in the morning, and i was to stay in bed for the first hour, the second hour I could get up and move around.. thank goodness too, because i was sure getting annoyed with the tight monitor around my belly, and i was all hooked up to the machines to be monitored in various fashions.. such as my contractions, baby's heartbeat, so on and so forth. I received another set of gels a couple hours later.. then an hour or so after that, i welcomed my contractions, gritting my teeth and clenching the hospital bed railings. No way was I going to be weak, I could take it.

Sure, Courtney, you can totally take it... because after a while I said... NO, I dont want to feel this crazy pain anymore. Who would! Yea, I know, that doesnt make me weak, it just means that i'd rather be comfortable. I received stydol (unsure of the spelling), basically its a pain med that would still allow me to get up (if i could) instead of being hooked up to the bed.

It sure threw me for a loop, I was totally out of it, and i didnt really feel the pain anymore. This lasted for about an hour, and at this point, I said HELLO to my contractions again. I got more of the stydol, but it didnt do anything for me.. I waited, feeling the contractions and trying to decide whether I just wanted the epideral already. At this point, the nurse had been checking every once in a while to see if I was dialating... I was BARELY dialating, and it had been HOURS... most of the day had gone by. I wasnt getting hardly any rest, but PLENTY of visitors.

I finally got my epideral, and it felt like a hot sharp poke in my back, but ten minutes later, i was numb everywhere and the contractions were only apparant on the monitor and the tightness of my belly. This was good. I was definetely annoyed with the pain of the contractions. haha!
Hours of waiting, and plenty of attempted rest, and attempted movement, and tingly feelings in my legs and feet went by and needless to say it was well into the night and i was wondering when the heck my little one was going to decide it was time to make her big debut.

June 13th, 2011

The epideral was starting to fade, and i could move my left leg, and I knew when I needed to push, starting around 8am, I started pushing, and the task wasnt easy. It lasted for 2 hours, and I felt intense pressure with each contraction.. They gave me more epideral, but I can honestly say that i dont think it was enough, because by the time my doctor came in, and my baby was ready, getting her out was definetly the worst pain ive felt in my life. But once it was done, I felt a great relief. I was exhausted, but numb as I was being stitched together for at least 15 minutes... *cringe* They put little Kayleigh Jade right up on my chest after she was born and wiped off, and I held her close, it was such a neat and spiritual experience I was just in shock.

They took her away to do shots, tests, and all that joyful stuff that babies have to go through after the trauma of being born, lol, and I realized I was STARVING.. My mom brought me a sub, and soda, and I layed in bed for a half hour. I slept on and off. I then thought I was ready to move to the recovery room. I was wrong. They tried to help me to the bathroom first, I managed to be wheeled in there... and once I sat down, I realized I wasnt gonna make it. I put my head down, and heard the nurses say ok we need to get you back to bed. I passed out completely, and I have to say that was the first time ive experienced passing out to this degree.. it was insane, a sickly feeling, I realized that i was back in my original bed and was told I should lay there and wait. Eventually I was moved to my recovery room, and jon and i werent released from the hospital until wednesday the 15th.
It was quite the experience, and it was quite worth it.

My Best Buy Baby Shower!!

The first four pictures are from the Baby Shower that my friend Dave (and his wife) from my work threw me! It was fun! Even though only a few went, a good portion of people pitched in to buy my car seat! How awesome is that!!! The last picture is a bouncer we got from the shower that i absolutely HAD to put together once i got home. I'm super excited about it! It plays music and that bar at the top is removeable with toys on it. We got tons of clothes, bibs, a keepsake box and a baby journal, a car seat toy, and the car seat and base!

ITS A GIRL!

We went for the 20 week ultrasound, to find out what we are having, and as many of you already know, we are having a girl. Yes, we have a first name. Kayleigh. We do not yet have a middle name, but we have some time!! So I thought I would post some ultrasound pics, and vids.

The picture is her profile! I thought it was pretty neat that we got one of her face (the side). Anyways, I'm feeling her move all of the time now, you can't quite feel it from the outside yet, but the doctor said it'll only be a couple more weeks! I'm very excited for Jon to be able to feel it!!!
My friend Dave from work and his wife are throwing me a baby shower on Sunday! I'm really excited! I'll probably be posting again after that, to share what I got!

Anyhow! I am 15 weeks and 3 days as of now! In 4 weeks, I will find out the gender! We finally heard our baby's heartbeat! I was so excited! We heard it moving around too. That was sure interesting. I think I am gonna have an active little baby. Well... look at the mom and the dad and you'll know the baby will have energy.. The rest of the appointment went well. Not too much to speak of other than me losing 6 pounds due to non-appetite but apparently thats normal...

I think that my appetite is getting better!
I hope I'm done throwin up....im pretty much tired of that. But what can ya do? I suppose my baby is as big as a navel orange now? I want to find some sweet food to compare it too... like maybe a donut without the hole?? haha!!

Im not a HUGE fan of the brown but you know what, WHO CARES!? it was FREE. Thats all that matters.
Well, anyways. The holidays at Best Buy are driving me slightly insane. But i know I'll get through.
Just so everyone is aware, my Grandma on my moms side (my last grandma) is in hospice, and is not expected to live much longer. Its been a hard week for me, but im pulling through.

So to get through everything, yesterday I let everything out and I went and bought glue on nails, (as you can see, haha) and chocolate, and just cried it out. Today I feel much better than yesterday.

I am VERY excited for one of my besties, Jordyn to get married in February. I am definetly putting extra moneys aside for a road trip. I HAVE to be there. :)

Jon is doing well. He is pretty busy! He was volunteering for the sherriff's posse at val vista lakes clubhouse and the mall and working a ton! But the holidays are almost over which is good AND bad to me. Anyways, I will leave this update here for now. More to come!

Ultrasound Appointment Today!

This was probably one of the neatest experiences ever! I have to say, its totally different seeing your own ultrasound versus someone elses. Its like I understand it now! haha! They always look so confusing, like where the heck's the baby?! My baby is in the center of the black oval. Yes, thats right, the tiny blob! Baby is only 1/2 of an inch as of right now.

The reason why i posted the above picture is because where you see the tiny white dot on the baby is where its heartbeat is, and to the left, all those blurry lines are the heart rate.. which apparently is 166 per minute! CRAZY! So I just thought I would update with some typical ultrasound pictures, and also let everyone know that I am super excited! OH and also as of tomorrow I will be exactly 8 weeks along. My due date is June 11th!

Its Been Forever..

I know that it's been a long long time since I have posted! I didn't really feel like anything amazing was going on in our lives other than the fact that we are working, which is typical, not amazing.

The first update that I should give is that we now live in San Montero Apartments, and we LOVE it. We moved there at the end of April, so yes, weve been here for a few months. This will be our third home since being married 2 years. We went from little Lakeview, to living in a big two story with Jon's mom, and now we are here, and we plan to stay for a while. We'll see what happens.

Alright. So, if you did NOT know already, (im almost sure i blabbed it to everyone i could) but yes, I'M PREGNANT!! How crazy is THAT! I still feel like the same old courtney, except with growing pains... literally..

SOO... the official story:
On the night of the 14th, I had this insane dream where I dreamed that I had just taken a positive pregnancy test. I was rushing around and trying to find my parents so I could find them, and see their reactions, and I was worried in my dream because I thought they would react badly! (of course, this is not the case..) Anyway, I ended up waking up at 4:30 am, the morning of the 15th, and I was so anxious, I decided to just take the stinkin test already! Hoping there was enough.. "liquid" in me to do it, I sleepily stumbled to the restroom, and lo and behold, the test read POSITIVE! I was too shocked to go back to bed! I decided I HAD to wake Jon.. Of course, he wasnt too happy about being pushed and shoved to wake up and listen to me, but while he was half asleep I told him, and all of the sudden he was AWAKE! HAHA! "huh, what? WAIT REALLY!?!?!?!" Its funny looking back at it.

So then I thought itd be good to surprise Jon's mom, and ended up meeting her at the mall, and just dropped the news on her and she was all happy she started crying! It was cute. A 40 year old grandma, who woulda thunk it! haha! I also went to the doctor officially, to make sure that my test was correct! It took the stupid doctor forEVER, but he finally came in and announced a big CONGRATS to me!

So THENNNN..... MY parents turn! Me and Jon's mom went and found a cute little picture frame that said "Baby" on the side of it, and I wrapped it up. We headed to Casa Grande around 630pm and surprised them with a visit! We gave them the frame as a "belated birthday for dad, and early birthday for mom" and when they opened it, I finished with "because youre gonna need this in 8 months.." Haha! It was perfect. They were really excited!!!

So now Im trying to get used to the fact that I can actually SMELL things, which isnt normal for me, and also that I need to cut out the junk food, and OH YEA remember to actually EAT.
On the day Jon and I found out, we did some random research, and my baby was compared to a "Chocolate Sprinkle", so for those of you who have Jon on your facebook, you will now understand why his status was "Chocolate Sprinkle :)"
Awww, my lil Chocolate Sprinkle! haha!! I thought it was cute so ive been sticking with it since. Although, Chocolate Sprinkle wont work for long, so we'll have to come up with some other good delicious comparisons.

Well, ladies and gents, thats all for now. I have a doctors appt. on the 29th to determine the exact date and all that fun stuff, and to answer all of the questions, yes im very excited, i kind of want a girl, and jon is convinced we'll have a boy, we are fine with either way though (gonna have to be) and also, one of my best friends is 3 months ahead of me! Angela, of course.
Im hoping to keep updated!!! I'll post pictures when I get some good ones. :)

They Did it! wow, 25 years is a long time! We had an awesome weekend with my parents, and my sisters and their husbands! (Mona, wish ya coulda been there!) We made them a nice memory book (which isnt finished!) We went to Rustlers Rooste! That was AWESOME! Live band, two stories, high up on a hill! it was totally awesome! great view, great food, fun slide! the works.

Its been three months! Its pretty crazy how time just goes by like that! Well, Jon and I are livin in Mesa, AZ, in Lakeview Apartments. Its pretty decent except that our water heater decided to leak just recently and so we have to call the maintenance.. JOY...
Christmas was really fun! but holy crap we visited so many people it was insane!!!
